After spending a lot of time over the past couple weeks piecing parts together for a new build , I came to the fans. I have several rads in my wc cooling loop and had been dreading the day i had to find fans. thinking.gif
I wasn't about to spend $20-30 a piece for highend fans and came across a lot of 15 Deltas on ebay. From what i gather about them, WFB1212H, they server grade models. I know they can be noisy, but in my cabinet build, I'm thinking a fan controller and some insulation can go along way. After a quick check on fans i found a 80mm Delta and installed it in my desktop for a little refference on noise level. I now get the jet engine reference. lol. That little guy sounded like a turbine winding up, but when it settled in doesnt seem that bad. Guess its preference in noise level. Anything tips about these fans, their operation, and control would be appreciated.

Delta WFB1212H
Dimension: 120x120x25.4 MM
Voltage: DC 12V
Current: 0.36A
Input Power: 4.32W
Speed: 2470 RPM
Air Flow: 86.50 CFM
Air Pressure: 4.80mm H2O
Noise: 37.6 dBA
Bearing: Two Ball

I have a pair of 2-wire WFB1212H's. When I timed them stroboscopically, they ran about that. From their specs, they should be good rad fans. My review of them is here

Awesome! Thank you very much ehume. +rep. Appreciate your time and will read your review. I'm looking at fan controllers to tame these beasts a little if they work out for the rads great, if not i can use a few of them for other applications and/or sell a few. The 80mm AFB i have mounted in my sig rig is pushing 4500rpms and creating good negative pressure in my case, helping exausting the hot air from my cheap Loki hs. Temps dropped 2c. Sitting at 35c on 3.9ghz/1.38v/3010cpu-nb/1.3v

Thanks. I should be receiving my lot of 15 in a day or two and can do a little testing.

Nice! 15 Deltas in very good condition.I tested several and handle decreases in speed very well. Very smooth.

Any suggestions on converting to "normal" 3 pin connectors? I' ve come up with - splicing pigtail or entension cables, or individual plastic connectors and crimping pins.
I will wait until install before configuring exactly. but would appreciate any ideas.

I have a couple of deltas right now but they are the normal ones tongue.gif
All of my powerful deltas that served me for 2 years has died several months ago so it seems like i have to buy a new box from china again thumb.gif

I'm building a new rig with delta fans only!
What cases do you guys use that can fit 38mm fans? These are what i think is excellent to try to overclcok the a10 and try to beat the benchmarks
AMD A10-5800k and GIGABYTE GA-F2A85X-UP4
G-Skill RipJaws-X 1866MHz (Simply because they have shorter heatspreaders or i else i would have listed HyperX i'm a big fan of kingston)
WD Caviar Blue 1TB
CoolerMaster HAF 912 Combat Edition
Deepcool Ice Blade GS (I found a shop that sells them for 25 bucks each so i figured why the heck not? But that was the reason why i had to scramble just now to find a another case instead of a Xigmatek Asgard XP. It's the same as the Ice Blade Pro but it has direct core contact and according to the benchmarks the GS (Which is to replace the original pro at a lower price, without that matte black paint) sometimes outperforms the original)
HEC Cougar CMX 550W (I don't need that much but i guess when i have a HD 7770 i only top up about 80W of power consumption)

Fans?
3 Delta AFB1212SHE (190CFM, 17.64mmH2O, 55.5dBa devil.gif) and possibly another 2 on the HSF?
3 Delta FFB1212SH or AFB1212SH or is that going on the deepcool?
Shelved the idea for FFB1212SHEs, the AFB1212SHE performs equally and has less power consumption apparently along with less noise
Desk fans instead? I'll use them as fume extractors
Can't think of a more ultimate fan for computers apart from the noise but it doesn't matter
Where i am living in i usually have to crank my floor fan to the max and have about 70-80db of ambient noise along with my speakers churning out tunes so i don't think that's a problem. Well if i wanted to sleep i wouldn't have any issues but if i am too just play music while web surfing i can dial the fans down 30Wx6 fan controllers which is
All controlled with 2 STW-6042s (Each for 20$!)
Sounds overkill right? This much cooling on a A10-5800k? I am nuts with that huge heatsink already! To be able to get it at 30$ and honestly that's a heatsink that's capable of trailing the Coolermaster V8 by just 0.3C on a 150W synthetic load. offers so much more value than a 50$ coolermaster that can just keep up with a 95W load ...
Oh well

Anyway, signing off,
Dave.

You had Deltas die after only 2 years? How did you manage that? Hit them with anti-tank weapons?

The reason i had been testing them is that the bearings made a bit of a clunking noise already tongue.gif
