Read what was going on back then. He was being hounded mercilessly. And I approve.

Like I said, I don't agree with the guy's antics. But I guess I need to repeat it since you're a bit up to hounding the guy some more even on his absence.

And I guess you didn't catch the sentiment I am trying to explain.

I'm just wondering whether the guy is doing fine in his life outside OCN. No need to be rude and answer with a hint of grudge over his past doings.

I've seen people exiting this forum in worse ways imaginable. And if you still don't get what I am trying to say, I am talking about guys like, syri, zara, and the like.

And yes, this thread brought me into this community. I can still remember how excited I am reading each page eager to see what the guy will do to his build. Up to the point where the thread goes to a downfall.

I came across a new Delta fan to play with AFC1512DG. 150mmX50mm 1.8A. Warning I've seen some photo's showing a true 150mm blade while others look like a 120mm in a 150mm mounting. Nice step up from Delta 120X38mm 1.6A. my Dell BTX came with. If you shop by Dell #MC527,#NC466,#DG168 #MC502 you can find better prices for used ones. Might be quieter than my GFB1212VHG 3.4A 120X50mm twin motor setup.

I'm running twice the cores at twice the speed my E520 came with, and can't change fan profile in the locked BIOS, so I just get bigger fans that move more air at 30-40% PWM. The high Db rating of these "monster" fans doesn't really come into play at that percentage of use. Not silent computing, but not too bad either.

I've seen some photos that look like 120mm fan in 150mm mounting so be careful of that.

I am running 2 Delta fans also. the GFB1212VHG 120X50 is 2-120mmX25mm Deltas in one housing. I guess they're in push-shove arrangement. The fans in mine turn opposite directions so the second one isn't running just to keep up. Not an issue if you have a heatsink in between. I've actually ordered a second AFC1512DG 150X50mm that comes with a Dell fan housing that might be useful to me. In my BTX the fan is in a shroud about an inch away from the heatpipe cooler which eliminates the dead spot behind the motor. The VRM's are located in that space so they get cooled by the air that goes under the fins on the cooler. The "twin engine" fan went right in my original 120X38 fan housing. Now that I'm using ITX video cards I think I can put a big aftermarket cooler with 150X50 Delta in my micro BTX.

.

GFB1212VHG in Dell Dimension BTX fan holder

I don't have any photos of my new fans they're not here yet. Same thickness as above but 25% bigger diameter.

http://valid.x86.fr/l2j5p1 Dell Dimension E520 with big fan @100%, and a Dell T9303 heatpipe cooler.

I want to see comparison pics of this 150x50 vs say a 140x24 or something... this thing most be monstrous. I have a 140x38 Delta and it is huge.

Comparison pics of it.

Dell MC527 is shroud assy. with NC466 motor aka AFC1512DG. Bump in fan guard is diffuser to get airflow in dead spot behind huge motor.
Mockup of fan in it's workstation dual CPU application.
Bottom 180X32, middle Delta 150X50mm, top 140X35mm Corsair HP (0.15A.!) Delta 120X38mm, Delta 120X25mm.

Looks like a boat propeller lol. I bet it weighs a bit as well...
Yes it's not a lightweight. But it won't be hanging off of a heatsink in my application.

BTW mounting holes are much bigger than normal. 6mm,1/4'' size.
