OP
You can reduce your pagefile to min 1024mb and max 2048mb to keep OS happy and your SSD with more storage area.
That's what I have mine set to.
I did find that some programs HAVE to be installed onto the SSD (C drive) or they won't open. Some programs I thought for sure would work on a D drive. (no RAID) The 5 I had to reinstall on the C drive was, Incredimail, Nexus (a desktop docking program) Advanced System Care 3, IZArc (for RAR and ZIP files) and the KMPlayer. (I don use any Windoz spyware crap, including IE) BTW, Firefox works on the D drive.

I don't know people want to move the page file to a slower drive. It makes no sense.

Also, no page file = no memory dumps. Best to set at ~ 1000MB max and min and just leave it alone.
Your pagefile is designed as an emergency memory dump. It doesn't have to be on a fast drive since anyone with 4Gb or more should never have to use it.

I just completely disabled mine, no issues at all

There's absolutely no advantage, performance wise, in removing the page file what-so-ever. But there are advantages to having it (and having it on a fast drive at that ie: an SSD)

This debate will rage forever. Personally, I don't care what other people do with it. It really all comes down to what you use your PC for. Some people will need it, others won't. But making a blanket statement like "There's no need for a page file" is just wrong.

This might interest some...http://www.overclock.net/windows/448...-you-even.html

Yes, since I posted this I was thinking about lowering it to 512 low 1024 high and may just do that. We'll never need/use it so even 256 L 512 H would be fine. As long as the programs that want to see/use it can see it then that would be fine. I'll make mine 512 - 1024 since I have the space.

I never said you don't need one... I said I completely disabled mine. I didn't mention whether other people need one did I?

Moving the pagefile is pretty easy. One of the first things I do when setting up Windows if I have an SSD as my OS drive. My Samsung F3 isn't exactly slow...

To move the pagefile:

1. Right click My Computer and go to Properties
2. Click the Advanced tab
3. Go to 'Settings' under Performance
4. Click on the Advanced tab again
5. Under Virtual Memory, click on Change
6. With C: drive selected, click No Paging file and then click Set
7. Select your preferred drive and then click System managed size, clicking on Set when you're done.
8. Reboot for changes to take effect.
