I have a pair of 555's that I upgraded to 595's by opening them up and removing these plastic pads that block air in to the drivers. Theres a lot of debate that the 555's are the same as the 595's except the pads blocking air. Personally I think the drivers are simply tested lower during the stress testing at the factory and the ones that don't pass a certain level are put in the 555's. But just like we can over-clock CPU's, taking the pads out can let the drivers perform much better.

You open them up and remove these rubber pad things and it allows about 75% more air in to the drivers. It opens up the bass and mid levels way up. For gaming they sound incredible, playing bad company 2 it feels like your actually in a war and you can hear people walking around trying to sneak up on you.

Also yes I can feel the bass punching my ears on high base music.
I really dont want to mod 555, id much rather get the 595's. You sold me, thanks everyone- +rep for those who helped, except you fish, i would if i could

Even though it was the simplest thing I have ever done, I think you will be very happy with your 595's.

There are different ways to measure bass. If you just want your head to shake, then get some Beats or other generally gimmicky headphones. Headphones like the AD700, 555, A700, etc. have (in general) very clear bass. You will still feel the booms and low notes but they will also be distinct and not drown out all the other sounds (unless that is what is happening in the game, if that makes sense). Any of the headphones that have been recommended will have good bass from a quality standpoint.

Also, all he said was it opened up the bass. Not a very good comparison to anything else to make a choice on. But it seems you probably want the 595 and are just trying to convince yourself so go for it. They are decent headphones.

Why is everyone blindly recommending the HD555 again?
HE ALREADY SAYS HE DOESN'T LIKE THE CARCHARIAS AND THAT USES THE SAMN FRICKING DRIVERS AS THE HD555!!!
seriously for one would you sheep cease to recommend the FOTM equipment and actually think about peoples requirements?
no wonder why i find myself avoiding this site more and more.

Lol ya, and 120$ for the 595's is a solid deal anyways.

Unfortunately, you didn't seem to help much at all... Rather than post a ridiculous rant that makes other people just laugh at your post, perhaps you could write an intelligent response with suggestions and reasons for your suggestions. Avoiding Caps Lock would also help your post not be so easy to gloss over. If you are avoiding this site for any reason then perhaps trying to be a helpful member and teach others rather than just ranting about ignorance.

You dont know how much this post helpmed me explain myself, i wanted good bass without the drowning out affect, like beats, and since the 595 use the same drivers as the carcharias, im still confused as to why the 595's are so much better than the carcharias, but gladly either the 595 or ad700 are good headphones, it just upto me deciding lol.
NOW THAT WE HAVE CLARIFIED
595 and ad700 are about the same bass wise, nice punchy non-drowning out bass, but which one has better mids/highs? Are the AD700 overall better, id rather not get the 595 just because they have a little more kick to them.
