I just need to remind you all that the update I posted was intended to help you decide which we should do: split order of both bare and complete, or compromise order where bare is shipped with the stuff to who wants it to pin the fans themselves.

I like the idea of the compromise, I just like the 16 dollar price tag and waiting over 6 weeks to get them here

Doesn't that mean that for bare-bones you are going to have to pay that same 3$ as well, if we end up with 1400 barebones?

So its going to cost 11-12$ per barebone instead?

Also these import and freight fees are a replacement for local import fees?
Meaning when they shipped, its going to be marked as import cost payed or I'm going to have to pay for the local import as well, as in double to import price?

The price keeps going up with info we don't know which suddenly appear.

Even if I decide to say "screw the RPM sensor" and get barebones, its not going to be very worthy to buy at 12$ a fan (which ends up to 14$ including import cost if we end up paying double).

I guess the compromise is almost as good.
At 16$ a fan it cost just over the AP-15, which makes it not worth it really.
Its the same as buying from a store.

Well, considering TankGuys is a store, that's quite correct.

The barebones fans are stocked regularly at the distributor which is local to me, so theres no import fees on them or over seas shipping charges. So the bare bones fans are 8-9$ plus whatever shipping is to your door.

The complete fans need to be manufactured at nidec which is in japan so theres are fees associated wiht that, then the cost of the freighting for the special order back to the states then the shipping to Molex to get the ends terminated then the shipping back from molex then shipping to tank guys for distribution then plus what ever the cost for shipping to the buyer will be.

Thats the reason the complete fans went up in price.

If you were able to buy these in a store they would be over 20$ a piece plus shipping.

Ok, now I understand fully.
I actually thought we would get the complete fans at a high discount, but I guess that won't be the case.

Basically, getting complete fans is pointless at this moment, as the price is too high.

Update me to barebones in this case.
Still want to see if the fans will come with a tach sensor built in, or we will get the pins for self connecting at least as a compromise.

Maybe.
All my AP-15s I got (22 of them) were bought at 15$ per fan locally.
The local retailer also have the option to order the AP-29 for 23$ a fan.

For 16$ its not worth upgrading from the 1850 to 2150.
But for 8-9$ it is in the end.
Just selling the AP15s will bring back the money+extra.

I also thought so too, im not happy with the final pricing on the complete fans, but remember they are still on par price wise with the cheapest AP-15s you can find so the 2150s are still the better deal in the end.

This is pure speculation but even if 2 orders are placed (1 barebones and 1 complete) I dont see why pins and ends still cant be offered if needed for the people who bought barebones.

And just to throw this out there why not just bulk order fan tails instead of the pins and connectors? The fan tail is essentially the complete connector with the wires already attached and all you would need to do it twist to wires together and tape them. like this fantail
