Yes, this is very much correct.

This is more of a evolving idea that is being fine tuned along the way.

Obviously it seems more logical to get a complete fan as it is easier to just plug it in without any hassles, but.. the distributer lead me to the idea that the fans and everything would be astronomically cheaper the more we got, in which case it seems to be quite opposite. It was 5$ for the sensor and connectors at 100 fans, Why is it still 5$ for 1500 fans????? this right here annoys me.

From the beginning i was asking about fees and shipping and i was told it was all included already in the pricing when in the end it not.

If a complete fan is ordered and after the 4000$+ in shipping/fees/taxes gets equated into the picture you are looking at 16$+ a fan as where the barebones fan is in stock and only the initial shipping would be added to the price making the fan about 9$ out the door.

This is just an idea and if we all take our time and work out the kinks it is perfectly within reason to place 2 orders, but like i said these are all just ideas and food for thought.

For my instance if they come complete im just going to cut the ends off of them anyways and wire them into the distribution block in my case, so id rather not have to spend the extra 7-8$ to just have it go in the gargage in the end.

I am just one of many which i why im asking everyone for their opinion on this, seeing as it will be all of our money put up front to purchase these.

I just realized a small flaw in the poll system. If you post your vote I will add it to the spreadsheet. Those that have already voiced opinions I will add those in a bit... Pick "Bare Bones", "Complete", or "Either/Don't Care".

Regarding the 5 dollar tack on for the wiring, its very likely that they have a 3rd party wire them and thats what they dont have a bulk discount on them

Just a thought

I don't mind adding the termination to the fans, but I really want a tachometer on them, and to be honest I don't want to do it.

They do have a 3rd party wiring them, the thing is they told me they have a bulk discount. which is why i have been waitintg for a final quote all week. I know for a fact i can order 3000 pins and 1500 connectors myself for .01 cent a piece making that about 1530$ in parts to wire 1500 fans. they are charging 7500$ and as im sure seeing as molex manufactures the parts to begin with its probably more like 300$ in parts.

If you need to turn the fan down at all it holds no benefit over the 1850 as the only factor that makes this fan better is that it spins a higher rpm, if your not running the 2150 at full speed you are better off just getting the AP-15.

You pretty much right there, but I do want to run them at full speed, just not always. I'm still up for the deal, to be honest, I can't get the AP-15 near that price ANYWHERE here. AP15 here are like $22-25 a piece.

You can get a pack of 10 3 pin connectors for $2 at frys. Another pack of crimp on leads will cost another $2. Factor in the HUGE savings a barebones fan offers in both cost and time...I think its a no brainer. This is possibly the easiest thing you can do to a PC part. Not to mention anyone planning on sleeving the wires will need to remove the 3 pin connector anyway.

$9 out the door? Hell yes! If we end up going barbeones fans for around this price, I'll up my order.

As for people worried about RPM connectors...I've never really needed one. Only thing I need to monitor the RPM of in my system is the pump. Otherwise, fans are either at 7v or 12v. RPM tells you nothing, voltage is what matters.
