There are 2 versions of the same fan, one with the sensor and one without it, it's just about asking them what exact model is it..

This is just outright lunacy. I'm hugely disappointed in OCN as a collective. This is an AMAZING group buy if we go bare, but if we go the other route, i may withdrawal completely due to idiocy.
Idiocy is not realizing that different people have different desires, interests, and opportunities to invest TIME. Being rude and a general ass about it shows a lack of understanding and general character IMO. Also if you have been reading they are looking at two separate buys so that us unwashed masses don't taint the likes of posters such as you apparently.

Ok everyone, lets play nice and put our E-peens away for now

Id like to increase my count from 10 to 15, barebone@$8

Personally I dont mind wiring them up and ill be running them full tilt anyway, so bare is ok for me.

If you really can't spare 10 mins to terminate a fan, then you need a new life, not a new fan. Lazy is lazy, and i call it as I see it.

Using a screwdriver to install the fan itself may be the extent of some users mechanical skills. I don't fault them for that. I also don't call it lazy. Wiring flat out scares some people....

I can understand that, and perhaps I am being too forward. At the same time it is SUUUPER easy to terminate a fan, save the end user nearly 1/2 the price, and nearly all of us will have to dissemble the fan to sleeve them anyways.

Unless you need to know your fans RPM 24/7 this is the only difference between the complete fans and the barebones.

This is what you need to have a complete fan.

$0.29

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=1390

$0.39

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=1167

And this is from performance-pcs so it might be cheaper elsewhere.

ErBall I totally agree with what you are saying. I personally dont care if everyone wants to spend $6 extra per fan, as long as we have the option for barebones. Ill be taking mine apart + sleeving anyway so this is no problem for me.

Definitly going to sacrifice one of my 20 fans to painting to see how that works. (red blades + black housing = sexy)

I want my fans with hotsauce brah.

No seriously, I think there would be more appeal (if the fans are barebone) if oc included an option that would give the pins and connectors but you would just have to connect them yourself.

A trained monkey could do that, its just no one want's to waste their time hunting/paying/shipping for a couple of pins for fans. That just makes the whole "group buy is cheaper" thought get thrown in the dumpster.
In progress.
