until I can have a chamber like in X men when they train against giant robot shooting lasers I won't buy something 3d that cost a quarter of what I make in a year ...

I concur. This source carries about as much weight as someone's Facebook status.

Alice in Wonderland was quite confusing in 3d at the theatre. Too much was going on and it didn't really look like 3d... more or less 2 2d images (and yes I was wearing glasses.

What if I started asking why we can't fly to Mars for $5 yet? And told you that I wouldn't support this "whole space thing" until it became cheap. Would I look like an idiot? Yes!
Don't really understand your argument. Of course I'd refuse to fly to Mars if I had to pay what it would cost today to get to Mars. Even if I could afford it.

The average idiots you speak of aren't really idiots. 3d TV's are being pushed off as the latest and greatest thing for those average consumers. Most aren't buying them because the glasses are a inconvenience.

A friend of mines brought a new Sony 3d TV. Those glasses are beyond awful. I couldn't bare wearing them for long. They are heavy, change with the lighting and don't fit well over glasses. It shocks me that they were able to find anyone willing to pay more than 400+ for such a huge inconvenience.

I'm betting that we are going to see 3d TV's without the glasses coming in the near future. I've been recommending that people wait for the ones that don't require glasses. My guess would be around 2013 that the glasses TV will become affordable and work with a larger viewing angle. Feel free to call me a idiot for waiting.

It's totally different in the sense that books are now made of shiny paper instead blotting style paper, they're still books.

The point is, whilst 3dtv/cinema has evolved very slowly it's still unacceptable to the consumer, and the only advancment I can see is that now 3d is in full colour, they even used to show old 3d films on the tv when I was a kid, it's nothing new. Except then we hadn't been exposed to the technology we have now and CGI, so everything had the wow effect, now it's got to be something special, even my 3yr old daughter isn't impressed with 3D.

Yeah some of the stuff i've seen was like that, 2D images pressented at different distances to the viewer, that's not my idea of 3D. Saw a preview for the Yogi Bear film at the cinema, that was terrible!
