Probably just air. Now I'm thinking the Pro3 will be all I need. I'm still researching. It's been a while since I built a high (for my budget) end rig with all new parts. Usually, I'm building with table scraps
Still a few bargain deals, but finally, some all-new bits
Here's the plan so far:
ASRock P67 Pro3 (1155)
Video card is NVIDIA GTS450-family overclocked to 925MHz
3X2GB DDR3-1600MHz RAM
Dual hard drives (one 1TB 6GB/S, one 1TB 3GB/S both SATA)
Running Windows 7 64-bit
All in a shiny new (ooh!) blue-LED-lit (bling factor- the wife demanded it when she saw a blue-lit case
) mid-tower ATX case. (link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156223
I was wondering if the onboard fans in the case (2 80mm front [one for CPU] and 120mm rear, along with the 135mm fan on the PSU would be good enough, or should I add another?
I'm pretty softcore in what I do- mostly internet usage, some gaming (Civ 5, Mafia 2, etc.), and watching movies (Blu-ray player included), but I want this to be a system that will last a while without much upgrading. I don't do any hardcore overclocking (since, as I've said, most of my systems have been pretty softcore) or gaming (yet), but I plan to in the near future.
