What information is properly reading my OC

Thread Starter
Prior to me just noticing the following reading all read everything at 4.00GHz

Everything being:

CPU-Z , ALL CPU Gadget , ControlPanel>System and P.O.S.T at bootup

now i've noticed the following..

*Bios Settings are all set to what they should be for 4.00GHz
*Gadget says i7 930 @ 2.80GHz clocked at 2.80GHz
*Cpu-z says 4.09GHz, Multiplier 21x, Bus Speed 190.9MHz
*P.O.S.T says i7 930 @ 2.80GHz SPEED 4.00GHz
*Control Panel > System says i7 930 @ 2.80GHz 2.8GHz

so my question is which should I actually pay attention too and why would
they all not read 4.00GHz anymore and only read the stock speed?

Sounds like you didn't turn off your power saving features in your bios and your CPU is throttling down when not at load.

CPU-z and bios post screen should be correct. The others are prolly not reading the actual frequency and making a calculation with either/or default BCLK and Multi.
