RX or RS for my Phantom 1155 build? - Page 2

i used to have a rs360 + rx240 setup. and i removed the rx240 from the loops yesterday while replacing the 5870 with a 570. guess what? the temperature underload actually dropped 2 to 3 degrees lol

it seems to me that the rx360 is quite capable by himself. so i think you will be fine with a rs240.

So the RS will work well for OCing and get me into watercooling?

Are there any additives or coolant I need for this loop?

What TIM should I use? AS5?

Yes the RS will be fine and is included in the kit.

Just use Distilled Water with PT Nuke OR silver coil.

If you have AS5 just use that.

The RS will easily handle the heatdump, even from an extremely overclocked processor.

You need a silver kill coil or PT-Nuke to prevent biological growth.

AS5 is outdated try MX-2/3/4, Shin Etsu, IC7 or Indigo Extreme. But if you already have AS5 no need to upgrade.

Where can I buy Indigo Extreme thermal grease?

It's actually a pad of solder, and it costs $10 each (1 use per GPU/CPU). It reflows solder on your CPU block. It's more difficult to install and would probably only drop your temperatures about 1C from AS5 (with your chip/OC).

I guess I will just stick to AS5 since I can access it easily. Thanks for the info though
