Well, I started out with a Commodore 64 (with Tape drive!) and then later upgraded to my beloved Amiga 500 (which I miss to this day). Later on, I saved some money bought my first proper PC with a i386 DX. I don't remember the specs, but I remember it had a turbo button *LOL*. I never modded this, but I do remember my Mum's face when I had it all over the floor torn apart (I was curious alright?). It worked perfectly afterwards, it all went back the way it was.

After that, I built up a Pentium II based PC (my first custom build) with a decent graphics and sound card (I can't remember honestly it was 10+ years ago). But I have fond memories of playing Quake for hours and hours (and hours) on that thing.

Since then, I've been working and like I said above, PCs became a "work device" for me, and I got into other things (cars, photography), and for whatever reason, lost interest. Until now.

I've been reading up about the folding@home thing. I have a PS3, but I've never really looked into using it for that. Once I build my rig up, I'll use both my PS3 as well as my PC while it's sitting idle. It looks like a fantastic cause.

Just an additional note, just posted my "future build" thread:

Take a look and let me know if you have any thoughts or advice. Thanks!
