I did a fresh install of Windows 7 not long ago and I'm noticing problem that I'm beginning to suspect it's hardware related. I'm not 100% sure though.

I'm not overclocking and everything is stock settings.

The first problem I encountered was computer shutting off when I use "Sleep". and one occasion was BSOD. Sometimes when I try to restart the computer it would just get stuck after shutting off and does not restart.

When I open "Computer", all the optical drives are listed as "CD Drives" ( I have 2 optical drives and 1 virtual drive). They should be 2 DVD RW Drives and 1 BD Drive (virtual) when there was no problem. There would be a status loading bar processing very slowly and after its done, I'm left with 1 DVD RW Drive and 1 BD Drive. So that means 1 of them is not working.

This is all after my fresh install of windows.

There was actually problem when I tried re-installing Windows. The install would actually get stuck and I had to force restart my computer during the install. it would get stuck reading from the CD or stuck on a blank screen. So I opened my case and switch my sata ports around and it installed fine after that.

Am I facing a bad sata port? aka the one that my DVD RW drive is using that Windows cannot detect?
