Asus P8P67 PRO boot issue

Thread Starter
Hi all. I just moved one of my hard drives to my new computer so I can have easy access to some files and photos. When I plugged everything back in, the monitor would not come on. Then it would shut off and turn on like 3 times. I then got a message saying my OC failed (was fine yesterday) and I booted into windows. Then when I did some updates and rebooted, I had to hit the MEM-OK! button in order to boot.

I read around and see others are having issues with these boards as well. I am on bios 1053 (I believe the latest). Are these boards just crappy or is it a case of being an early adopter of a new socket?

I don't know what it is, but every time I un/plug in a drive, be it a flash drive or hdd.

I end up pulling my hair out trying to get the mobo to boot.

BTW this is with a vanilla and a pro.

Should be a fun ride when my SSD comes tomorrow! I know my old system would do this sometimes, but would only do it once. This one does it a few times.

1253 is still a beta bios and seems that people are having more issues with it then 1053. Stick with 1053 for the time being.

I too had that weird boot issue once i added drives to my system, even though my OC had been stable.

Had to do a cmos clear and start over again to stabilize the whole thing with the addition of the extra drive. However as this point I can pull out and add any of the 3 drives in my rig without problem. Same goes for connecting or unplugging USB and eSata drives.

Check out the following thread for more details on the P8P67 series boards.
