Powerline Networking, opinions?

I just ordered this netgear kit at the egg.

I just built an ITX HTPC that runs BOXEE, and found that WiFi sucks for this task. I would rather a hard wired connection from my patch panel, but I hope this solution will work better than my wifi.

Have any of you used these? I got the ones with homeplug AV1, just in case I go that route.

my old teacher uses this in his house.

works pretty well for him.

make sure that the sockets ur putting them in are on the same line. otherwise u will lose alot of strength/speed when it reaches the other end.

Hmm... interesting... However that can't be done.. Hopefully since the source is brand new installation I may not see the degradation you speak about..

Correct. Yes, My house. I'm just wondering if you can have one source with multiple destinations, Including a hot spot..Which makes a router pointless at that point...
