Thread Starter
here are my specs:

AMD Phenom II 1055T Six Core Processor 2.80ghz
-ASUS M4A88T-M Motherboard
-evga gtx 580 oc edition video card
-12gb ddr3 memory corsair 1333mhz
-Coolmaster V6 cpu cooler
-windows 7 64 bit os
-cool master haf 922 case with 3 fans (top of case, back and front)
-corsair 750w power supply with 80 plus
-22 inch benq led monitor

i really would like to overclock my cpu to atelast 3.5ghz-4.0ghz but i am concerned about things that the mobo that i have on my rig may not let me oc high compared to others out there.
when i am overclocking what shold i normally keep the temps at min or max just so i know, i do have prime95 and other programs installed so that i am ready to go ahead ....but i have absolutely no idea how to oc....

It is not recommended to overclock six core cpu on this board,
mossfets not even cooled and voltage regulation is poor
You will need 8+2 regulation for this cpu if you want overclock it
This is just my opinion
Keep temps under 62 C and voltage 1.50-1.55v for air cooling

if you have no OC knowledge check out this out before starting, otherwise you wont understand peoples advice etc.

You might be able to do a small overclock on that board, maybe check through the 1055T owners club thread also might take some time but im sure people have already struggled with that board and will have some answers.

Go with this one 890FX thats $100 difference with good OC potential.

The asus crossh4 is the best board around for AMD x6 but I've heard great things about the biostar price-performance wise.

Everything was said in this post. M4A88T-M comes with an unheatsinked 4+1 power phase, something normally dangerous to use with 125W x6 processors. Don't make me bring out the horror stories.
