What video card should I get?

Thread Starter
At the moment I am running a 9600GT, but I am wanting to upgrade, My system is running:
CPU:AM3 965 black edition
Ram:4 Gig DDR2 1066
MoBo:M4N78 se
HD: Seagate 7200 500 Gig
PSU: 450 watt something

In would like to be able to run Just cause 2 maxed out at 1440x900, atm I am getting 12FPS when maxed, which isn't bad considering the cheap video card.

What is the best bang for buck video card I can get.

I would say either 460 for the cheaper end of the spectrum or the 570 for the higher end. The 570 might be overkill at your res but that's never a bad thing. Also consider the 470 as it sits right between those two I mentioned, just depends on your budget. I think you'll need to upgrade your psu for the 470 and up.

Wait a month for the GTX 560 to come out, it's gonna be a solid card and at $275, it's a really good deal.
The fastest one you can afford. Really, figure out the most money you want to spend, look at the cards that cost that much, then see which is fastest with the features you want.

Now you know which card to buy.

Yeah, all depending on my budget, but thought I would as as I can build a PC but don't know what ALL of the jargon ,means, and what I do know I dont know if the rest of my system can keep up with etc. I noticed my perfomance increased when I went to windows 7 64 bit. I will wait a bit and see what reveiws the GTX 560 gets and how much I will be in New Zealand. There is a XFX GeForce GTX 285 1GB I am thinking about, but would eed a new power supply.

Your probably going to end up needing a new psu depending on what brand it is. Go for a solid 650 and then you can run any card you want.
