Decrease VCore I need for 5GHz - Page 3

Thread Starter
Yea, I need around 1.47 in bios, 1.438 load for 4.8GHz. And I just BSOD'd at 5GHz HT off, obviously it needs more voltage but right now I'm tired and want to go to bed. I set it back to it's 24/7 OC, 4.5GHz with 1.37VCore.

Yeah this is smart, if you are just trying to get a 1hour stability at 5Ghz thats not a bad idea, but a lot of people are trying to run 5 24/7 @ scary temps.

Think I'm an idiot for feeling "safe" with these temps?

Dont know if this helps but some batch numbers suck.

I have 2 with the same batch # and same vcore needed for 5GHZ (50X100)

On a Gigabyte- P67-UD7 I need LLC level 1 which gives 1.416 in Windows and droops to 1.38 @ 100% load. Temps are 61-67 between the cores (this is under water- Pa 120.3, apogee XT)

Vdroop is in the Intel spec and part of how electronics works, enabling it does nothing for a properly calibrated overclock and gives the user the illusion of having a lower voltage than he/she really does have.

i want to hit 5.0ghz too, but seems to be un-reach-able for me, stuck at 4.7ghz, everytime i seem to get to windows, it just freezes up at the start up logo.. so best of luck to you, if you didn't get there yet ..
