I've done this twice and I now have my own personal rep I can contact whenever I need to rather than calling regular customer service. Basically, Comcast ignores 99% of their customers but once you prove yourself to be tech savvy they go out of their way to help you. I guess this is because they want to avoid seeing your story on the Consumerist or Reddit. Just be sure to always be polite but firm. Being nice will get you further than being rude and demanding.

Thanks. I never used twitter before. No idea how to send him a message. Should I just link him to this thread?

well look at the OPs complain, i will believe it when i see actual speed test not services that they cant provide. For those speeds you probably need to live inside there hub.

You can also email him at William_Gerth@comcast.com.

I wouldn't link to this thread. Just explain your problem and include a number for him to contact you at.

lol i get 50mbps with a limit of 125gb downlod/upload theres no cap so every gig i dl more is 1.75$ on top of the 96$ i pay

something allot of my buddies do is get a cheaper internet like a 15mbps or something which cost 40~$ + 7$ every extra gigs but it caps at 40-50$ so totals to like 80$ a month with unlimited download

i'm extreamly picky so once i start working again i am mostly going to go to get a 125mbps
(150$ a month)

Videotron is my ISP they usually dont know what there doing prices are incredibly high but internet is sick its always at max its actually at 54mbps on mine there also boosting everything up for free wich is cool get 60mbps woot and 150gig limit

I figure it's worth mentioning this here too; for anyone else having issues with other companies and have exhausted all the usual routes to get it resolved I highly suggest getting in contact with the highest person in the company you can. Many companies use the format firstname.lastname@company.com or something similar so look up the names of various important people and try emailing them using that format.

If the above doesn't work it's actually pretty easy to find personal email/office numbers for CEO's and other VIP's too in a company. Just check SEC Filings at http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml. Keep in mind you'll also sometimes find personal cell phone numbers, home phone numbers, home addresses, etc here too. DO NOT USE THESE. Not only is it disrespectful it'll get you nowhere and it might even get you into legal trouble too. However, once the CEO gets a call at his office with you complaining about some small issue you'll likely get it resolved ASAP. I once got a faulty TV replaced, which was out of warranty, with a newer better unit due to this little trick.

Zensou: how long has your internet access been slow?

Early last week, I received an automated voice mail from Comcast stating that they were going to be performing some kind of maintenance in our area and that we would be experiencing an outage between 7am and 5pm at least once over the next few days (that is, over the next few days after they left the voice mail).

We did indeed have an outage just as they promised, but our internet access feels slower now. So I think that they either did something wrong, or perhaps this was intentional. Either way, I'm not a happy customer and so I'm planning on calling.

In other words, I think that this thread is going to be extremely helpful for me too.

No, I never got any calls and I am not aware of any maintenance work going on.

I don't remember how I noticed the slow down I just know that once I noticed it it has been bugging me ever since. I'm also unhappy that I'm paying $45 for 3-4mbps download speed..Money doesn't come easily for me, being a full time college student, working only 10 hours a week.
