Sure it's alright, but it doesn't have any support of a legit company such as Antec or Corsair. And when I am investing in a part that has the ability to destroy every component in my rig, I am going to get one with a real company that has a great warranty and who I know will support me.

Sparkle is a second-rate company that specializes in low end, budget build parts. When they suddenly make a jump to a "high end product" it is hard to trust or know what you are getting.

When do you see an Enthusiast rig run by Sparkle components???

Enthusiasts like me will pay for the best, therefore we get the best. Sorry I wont entrust my entire rig to a Sparkle PSU

And neither should our young OP here. Everyone here works hard for their money. We all deserve the best we can get. The last thing we need is to re-purchase an entire PC because of an iffy PSU. Look at it as paying $20 extra for insurance

But yes, it may be a great PSU. The company simply isn't battle tested yet. Hopefully they will prove me wrong its always nice when a company can pull off a nice stunt like this. They can add some price competition which benefits all of us

Sparkle has been around for some time and I remember using them in a number of builds I did for customers of mine and never had one of their power supplies come back, and from what I remember Corsair did not have power supplies at the time but they now have one of the premier power supplies out there now, every company has to decide when it is best for them to come into the community of us enthusiast's.

I for one welcome the competition they give each other as it helps us out in the long run.

So for the OP if you have your heart set on the Sparkle power supply get it, they are a company that has been making power supplies for over 17 years, I think they know what they are doing now.

Sparkle was made by FSP awhile ago. Not sure if that changed or not, but their PSU's are solid. I wouldn't worry about that.
And I've built 3 of these systems in the last week. I'm taking out a few parts that you don't need.

I have viewed the PSU thread here, but my big question here is: what kind of power supply is needed for 4-8 HDs plus the other supplies? I have built many a computer but never bought the supplies. Newegg says at the least 1100, but some of you have been saying 750W. My case comes with plenty of room for hard drives even with W/C AFAIK and have many an old spare part (my family was an ISP).

What hard drive? They really don't need very much at all. Your biggest consumer is the GPUs. What have you decided on for the rest of the build??

I'm going to get 570's, but the water cooling is my biggest obstacle now.

SLI 570s then go with a quality 750 watt power supply and you'll be fine. Watercooling wise I would recommend against a XSPC kit simply because of the restriction that will be in the loop.

Blocks
XSPC Rasa CPU Block
EK GTX 570 Full Cover Blocks

Pump
MCP355 Pump
XSPC or EK MCP355 Aftermarket Pump Top

Reservoir
Just about any reservoir will work

Fittings
Fittings are at your discretion and budget. If you want to go high end then go with some beautiful Bitspower compression fittings but you will pay a pretty penny for them.

Tubing
You can go with either 3/8" ID or 1/2" ID tubing but just make sure to match them up with the right size fittings. There is no difference when using either of the sizes and just make sure that if you go with compression fittings that you match both the inner diameter as well as the outer diameter

Radiator and Fans
This I can't tell you just yet because it depends on what level of noise you are comfortable with. I personally love the sound of high powered fans and thus have a high FPI radiator with some noisy powerful Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000 RPM fans going full blast. If you which to go with some low speed fans then a SR-1 or the XSPC would work great. If you want a balance of both then i would go with the Thermochill PA120.3 paired up with some high or medium speed Yate Loons or if you are willing to spend nearly three times as much per fan and get a quieter rig go with the Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15 fans.
