Looks fine to me. Are you trying to filter out the crap falling out of coolant?

I don't understand. Why is your coolant or water getting dirty enough to want/need a filter?
It will work fine as a filter. Like Nick said, I'm not quite sure why your water would be getting that dirty unless you have a hole in the loop where contaminants could be getting in through.

Nonetheless, it would be cool to have the flow meter and hey, why not have a filter to ensure water purity while you're at it?

He's some red colored coolant which (like all colored coolants) has a tendency to break down over time leaving gunk floating around the loop. The filter attempts to prevent this gunk from accumulating in the CPU block by catching it in the filter.

ok but a filter is just going to cause restriction, and when the filter gets gummed up even more restriction.

also the CPU block is going to act as a filter for that kind of "coolant" anyways, no matter what you do it will "gunk" up that block, well maybe if you put it right in front of the inlet to the CPU block, but still a better idea would be to remove the coolant and run distilled water

I agree. The main purpose of the filter is that it's easier to clean than the CPU block, but still some gunk will land on the CPU block.

Distilled offers better temperatures as well.

Unless lined with silver (e.g. BP True Silver fittings), a filter will not inhibit the growith of microorganisms.
