I'm reinstalling the original driver from the CD, as the card was working fine when I initially installed it. I'm trying to rule out certain possibilities here, and at the same time I'm hoping this is just a bad dream : (

Mine sometimes starts making a loud hissy noise, not from the card, but my heaphones when I exit games. Unplugging the headphones and plugging them back in doesn't fix anything, but disabling the card in the device manager then enabling it fixes it. I'd tell you to try the unified drivers, but they don't support the built-in amp.

Hey everyone,

I just reinstalled the driver for the sound card. Upon plugging the jack of my headphones back in, I noticed a slight constant eeeeee and fuzz in the right ear cup, as if I was in the cockpit of a commercial aircraft. However the fuzz is not drowning out the music now. Strange!

But who knows how that'll last. How can I lower the fuzz as much as possible?

If you're plugging it into the front panel try plugging it directly into the sound card instead.

Yes I have it plugged directly into the sound card.

:EDIT:

However I can hear the fuzz get VERY loud while I'm playing games! I just fired up Dead Space and while the left ear cup was fine and clear, the right ear cup was PFFFBZZBZBZBZBZB.

This is VERY bad because now I'm only getting 50% of what I purchased. >: O I am appalled.

I heard I could use an external headphone amplifier to reduce hiss noise? Is this true?

ALSO!!!! Would cleaning dust out of my GPU fan help at all to reduce noise?

I'm looking at this. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-Headphone-Amplifier-Micca-Cable/dp/B002V5M5E6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top"]Amazon.com: FiiO E5 Headphone Amplifier with Micca Y Cable: Electronics[/ame]

--

:EDIT: Just cleaned the dust out of my GPU cooling fan, separated any wires that were physically touching the Xonar DG...fuzz is a little less but it still goes PBPBPBPBPBPB in the right ear cup when I play games, which is EXTREMELY annoying.

*Sigh* I said "screw it" and removed the Xonar driver and the sound card. HOWEVER it screwed up my onboard too! Time for a new thread!
