How much can a RS240 cool? - Page 2

considering how cool the 460 runs, a RS240 would be enough for cpu + gpu

get an RX to have some headroom, but i doubt a 360 is "necessary"

I'm hoping to reduce noise and also I have it overclocked so it hits about 65ish.
But yeah fun too!

If you MUST do cpu and gpu i would get the RX240 as it should be plenty.

Watercooling is just as loud. if you arent gonna use good fans then you are gonna need the 360 so you can run lower rpm fans.

Well yeah if you want to reduce noise than the rx240 would be great! But I'm not sure how hard it will be to fit it in the 690II

What sort of rpm do you think I'd need on a rx240?

Rx240 should fit in the bottom of the 690ii fine.

Maybe some cooler master r4s those work great and they are relatively cheap.
under like 1500 rpm I think would work fine. I used to run my r4 at like 800 or so.

a single 240 will be more than okay. your temps should be around 40-high 50s with Prime running for 30min.. you should be good.. you could probably cool your mobo also and still have good temps.

Yes, but the ideal set-up is at least a 360. That leaves room for heavy overclocking. A CPU and GPU on a 240 doesn't leave much room for overclocking, unless you don't care about having great temps. When I make a suggestion, I never know what the person intends to do, so I tend to be conservative.

I ran my QX6700 @ 1.41V 100% load upper 60s on a single RX120. That thing runs hotter than my i7 at 4.0 and it ran it just fine.

They will work fine. I'm unsure of how good their static pressure is though.
