955BE 800mhz OC only yield 4fps in gta4? :(

So my GTA4 runs at 34ish fps with my Phenom II x4 at stock (3.2) The other day I took my cpu to 4ghz, OCd my NB to 2.6ghz from 2ghz. and OC my gtx 460 1gb from 715/1430/3600 to 800/1600/4000.. After all of this, getting it stable and being ok with voltages. I only gained about 4 fps. I was a little disappointed lol. I went back and dropped my cpu to 3.8 (for temp reasons) and I didn't see any fps change. What am I leaving out thats holding me back? Any ideas would be great! thanks

Update!, Wanted to post some benches per request of some OCN members. I disabled forced AA in nvclp. I was able to get my 460 to 870/1740/4000, here are some benches of GTA 4 and Unigine through the OC process.

Starting off with GTA 4, shockingly quite the improvement for a cpu intensive game!

Thats all i was able to get done last night. I hit 900mhz @ 1.087v and it ran furmark for 6 hours. But it crashed in the first run of Heaven, I dropped freq by 10mhz per failed run until it passed. Seems to be stable at 870/1740/4000 with 1.087v to the gpu. Temps are mid 70C with max fan.

Nah, dawg. Firstly, it's GTAIV: one of the most CPU-dependent games in the history of gaming - not to mention a horrible port. Secondly, unless he's running this at 1080 with 16XAA, I don't see his GPU slowing him down.

OP: that's a little slow for you current configuration. You got the latest drivers for your GTX 460? Also, what res and AA/AF settings are you using?

Hmm, lower that AA a bit. @1080 4X is not much different than 8X.

Overclock your 460 a bit higher. You can do at least 900/1800 with a mild voltage bump. That should help your FPS at that res especially.

How are you getting AA? As far as I know it only supports SSAA via mod. I doubt a 580 will get great performance at 1080p 8xSSAA in that game on Very High.

Turn the settings down. Running it at high vs very high doesn't look much different and you get a huge boost.

Il look around for safe voltages and see what I can get it to. Is there any other GPU stability test besides furmark I should use?

This.

SSAA kills fps. Turn it down and apply some blur filter if things get too jaggy.

FurMark should be good. Personally, I use OC Scanner from EVGA, but it's the same concept as FurMark.

I have mine set to 1.075V and it's been rock-solid for weeks.
