NVIDIA Tegra 3, equipped with 1.5GHz quad-core! - Page 5

I think a lot of you guys seem to forget something...

It's your screen that eats up 60%+ of your battery life, not the processing power.

As long as the processors are smart enough to downclock themselves or turn off cores when not in use, they won't be your biggest problem.

So I'm more psyched with the Super AMOLED 2 and whatever LG is calling their new screen tech. That will be more exciting to me than this.

it's the fact that they are cheap and easily obtained is why everyone has them, aka, mainstream.

OT: i think the tegra 3 would be sick in a netbook!

I am EXTREMELY glad I have a quadcore. Why> Video editing, and Solidworks- the CAD program I use at my university. It runs quite well on my quad, though render times are still slow-ish.. Also, DVD encoding is MUCH faster on a quad.

I couldn't go back.

I wonder how the tegra 3 gpu will be like. To be honest, the Tegra 2 gpu power seems like a letdown for me from a company like Nvidia

Did they already hit a wall with single core? I mean Quads and Dual cores came to PC because single core performance increase is not big enough. Also GHz wall.

Power consumption is a bigger factor in tablets. You can squeeze out a lot more instructions per watt in a multicore design. I imagine the full tegra 2 package with quad core fits within a 5 watt power envelope.

Wasn't the Tegra 700 or 750 a 5 core? What ever happened to that chip? It had something crazy like 30+ hours of HD playback.
Tegra 2 is a bit slow, but seriously Tegra 3 is designed for low power right?
