SB OC Tiers?

Thread Starter
dumb question: are there any agreed upon overclock tiers for sandy??

example:

Code:
shiat tier < 4
4.0 ≤ low tier < 4.4
4.4 ≤ mid tier < 4.6
4.6 ≤ high tier < 5.0
5.0 ≤ extreme!! < 5.3
god tier ≥ 5.3

I don't think there are "tiers" for any processor, sure there are the people who use LN2 which are in a crazy mode of their own, but seeing as how each processor and board setup works different from others, you can't call a 4.0GHZ overclock crap if that's all the board and processor will do when it may in fact be a good overclock for that processor

Basically any SB chip can get any of those OC's as far as I've seen.

I guess the only classifications out there are "godly batches" vs. "good batches" vs. "regular batches" vs. "mediocre batches" vs. "bad batches"

I'd say I got a mix between good and regular (probably just regular).

1.315v @ 4.4GHz, HT on
1.42v @ 4.7GHz, HT on

(only changed vcore, haven't attempted to change other voltages)

I bet with a little tweaking (up or down, might differ for any chip), you could get a slightly better vcore setting for any given multiplier.

But I believe any SB chip can hit 5GHz... I don't want to try it, but I am guessing at about 1.48v I could hit 5GHz. I mean... maybe it'd take 1.5v, I don't know... but I don't want to try treading so closely to the maximum vcore settings.
