how do you play portal on a console anyway? from what I remember playing it on the PC required fast movements to make a portal whilst in mid air, that must be a nightmare of a game on console

Its great on console..I beat/played the 360 version.

But which one is the real handicap though? PC gamers are aided by ultra-sensitive digital mice whereas console gamers use analog sticks w/.6ms of lag. I think it flies in the face of 'superiority' when its not really you that is superior, rather the input device

really. cause im pretty sure that if you get 2 people the same thing, and 1 player wins, he is superior.

Console players can only get so good with a controller, they are limited by its capabilities. With a mouse, your limits are more about the limits of the person not the tool they are using.

Also, I never saw anybody state that there was zero purpose for consoles. Just people noting the inherent hardware limitations they have, which may well be exceeded by user-made maps.
