Heatsink Suggestion

Thread Starter
I'm in the market for a heatsink to go with my i5-2500k Sandy Bridge. I'm only attempting a light OC around 3.8GHz but I'd like to be adequately cooled. I was considering the Hyper 212+ with a push/pull configuration.

It will be my first time overclocking (and building a desktop for that matter). Do you think the Hyper 212+ will still leave me room for 4.0GHz in the future?

Thanks

I would check out the h50, it is known to be on top compared to other heatsinks. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835181010

Depends how much money you're willing to spend. The 212+ will almost certainly be good for 4.0GHz using a couple of decent fans in push/pull, but there are obviously better heatsinks out there.

try thermaltake spinQ

If you wanna go higher, I'd get a dh-14 or one of thermalrights high end coolers.

The hyper 212+ is more than capable of handling 4ghz. I'm actually very impressed with this heatsink.

Why? That's one of the worst CPU coolers of all time. I'd go with an h50 personally

Thanks guys. So apparently the Hyper 212+ will be good enough for 4.0GHz.

Are there any other heatsinks better than the 212 that are under $50?
the Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B might be better, It's still not obvious which Heatsink is better in terms of cooling between the two...
