No you can assume it was that price when it was released and has never been lowered because it's a legacy item.

Don't get me started un upgrade-ability

intel fails hard

but I do agree with you about building a rig right this second that shreds, and not taking into consideration ANYTHING

then I'm wrong, but intel was famous for it

too bad AMD is godly in upgradeability

I would agree the gaming aspect is decent enough on the AMD chips, until you start adding more gpus, at which point they become a massive bottleneck. I already saw a 70% bottleneck in Vantage on my 1090T with 4.4Ghz core, 3.2GHz NB. And that was with a single gtx 470.

Sure you don't need two or three high end gpus, but you don't need an x6 either, so don't try to argue from that vantage point because you'll be in the same spot.
I've noticed bottlenecks in 3dmark as well. That is 3dmark though. In games there isn't much of a difference.

The 6 cores are just as fast as the 965/955 quads single thread yes. The 6 core caters to more multitasking, a trend in which the industry is going. Hell none of us that play games even need a quad core, but we still buy them. 6 Cores have more uses than games. For servers, massive gains. For home users, encoding, multitasking, folding, etc

Many new games use and benefit greatly from a quad core. Dragon age and dirt 2 are a couple examples that I have recently played and there are plenty more.

And about you and supposedly AMD saying that the PHIIX6 is as fast as the i7 950 in games, that is true but only when the system/game is bottle necked by the GPU. Even then, there are a few games where the i7 has a huge performance lead but the same cannot be said for the phenom II.

That's not downclocking Balla, or do you have the only i7-2500k in existance that came with a stock 5Ghz clock?! LOL

I only ask because you made the statement below, you suggested 4Ghz, I just wanted to see it because I don't have an i7-2500k to test it myself.

.
7.97 @ 5Ghz isn't very impressive to be honest.

No it's not, but it is considering your x6 can't touch a x4 (without HT) in multi-threaded benchmarks.

1090T is incapable of 5GHz without Phase or Dice/LN2.

The i5-2500k is capable of 5Ghz on air.

Your scores are kinda low though, here is a pretty decent score I got with my 1090T.

Still going back to 6 vs 4, transfer that to gaming, and the i5-2500k is a much better chip when it comes to everyday tasks and gaming.

Just to further illustrate the point here - we'll go back to single thread performance.

Most games are 2 threaded, some are 4. None are 6 threaded.

I can hear you already... "Well what does that matter btf??"

Look at it this way, in most games your x6 is only 33% effective. In some it is 66% effective. And while it's slower than the i5-2500k at 100% effectiveness, the i5-2500k is still 50% effective in most games, and 100% effective in some.

So your not going to run your 2500k @ 4Ghz, even though once again in your last post you claimed that a 1090T can't touch your cpu in multithreaded apps? All you've posted is some better benches than mine, thanks, that will make it harder for you to prove! LOL

Whether a cpu can reach 5Ghz on air isn't relevent to bench mark performance, the 1090T has reached 6.5Ghz, can your 2500k do that? PMSL

....We all know the answer to that, don't we, no proof needed

I was actually genuinely interested to know what result you get at 4Ghz, but if you just want to turn every thread into a "my (insert latest, i change them so often cpu here) is better than yours argument, fine.

The difference is I do 5GHz 24/7 without expensive or single use cooling.

Show me the 6GHz Phenom II x6 folding, or running Prime 95 for 12+ hours.

Also what you're claiming I said isn't what I said. I said it would destroy a x6 @ 4Ghz, not while the 4 core processor was at 4Ghz. That's just silly, you just a silly boy aren't you?
