Athlon II x2 250 OC help - Page 2

Pir: CnQ is off, I already tried everything u mentioned...

As I wrote earlier, I had 250 FSB with these exact memory sticks with no problem, stable for a few months... I think mem clock is not even changing with just 5 MHz FSB raise...

Oh and BTW - I set mem clocks to 200 MHz and its not working either

Do u mean reflashing with the same version?
Yes,try reflashing with 5001 with your new cpu in.
All worked fine on 3001,so it seems to me to be corrupted some how.
It can't hurt and only takes a few minutes.

I have one more thing that might be a work around, but try the reflash first.

Good luck

Forgot to mention: Already tried reflashing to 5001 again (ofc with defaults in BIOS) didn't help

on 3001 with new cpu I had the exact same problem as now (old cpu which worked OCed to 250fsb was on 3001)

Gyro: unfortunately I'm running out of thermal compound (and I don't have any shop nearby to buy it in) so I'd like not to waste it if there are other options...

Oh and BTW the only thing I don't have control of is FSB and Vcore voltage increase so I wouldn't call it "uncontrolled bios" :-) I can successfully change settings like RAM clock, HT speed etc.

Go here http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_...ools_6.06.htmlD/L and install the performance group only.
Then go to the nvidia control panel, click the performance section, then click the cpu tab and try adjusting the fsb from there.Don't forget to click apply.

We use that at the M2N club(in my sig) to get the x4 955/965/970 to run on these boards, so it might work.

If it does not then I'm out of ideas.

Good luck

Gyro, I can't believe it, but it's actually working!

But still I can't adjust Vcore there

Just a question, how does it save these settings? -> Do I have to run this program (or have this program running)? I tried "profile policies" to load my profile (with higher FSB) when windows first starts, but when I reboot I've got defaults again...

EDIT: I did profile policies again and it's loading with windows now...

I'm confused about this - cpuz shows my OCed CPU clock, but Orthos shows default value - but I can clearly see improvement in wPrime 32M test (before about 27-28 secs, now about 22 secs)

Anyway thanks a lot Gyro!

Still I'm gonna do some research why BIOS doesn't raise FSB... It's a mystery for me...

After you make your profile select new rule and there should be an option too load the profile when windows starts.

For the cpu vcore try enabling cpu vcore offset voltage(50mv) to enabled.
WARNING before enabling offset lower the vcore by .05v.
So if it is at 1.35v lower it to 1.30v,see if that gives you some room to move up.
