What is there to not understand?
They have double the amount of room to put in holes for barb fittings, they cut them out in the bottom rear and have twice as much area to do so.
I run my dual res about 1/2" low and the water still 1"+ from the barbs
With a old system I ran a single, and it had to be full in order to keep the barbs completely under water. when leak testing and removing the bubbles from the system I had to put a book under the front to make all the water run to the back, because when level bubbles would come in and take water out, thus lowering the water level and then pulling more air, was never ending. After that I thought, this is the last single bay I am owning.
