Nvidia Unlocks CPU's?

Thread Starter
I bought this Nvidia chipset motherboard and it supports core unlocking from what I tested out.

I thought u had to have an AMD southbridge to do this?

No, they have NCC or whatever in place of ACC to unlock cores. In theory it should work identically to the AMD chipsets, but I've never personally used one.

3+1 power phase + 125W-consuming 4 cores!?
Oh boy, I can smell the burning from afar. Don't bother unlocking on that nVidia chipset board, even if you can, unless you're running an Athlon II only.

It appears your current board is also a 3+1; MSI boards are the most dangerous for running 125W TDP processors on - worse than Gigabyte. No 3+1 power phase should ever be running more than a 95W processor as an absolute maximum to start with. But you're also running it all with no mosfet heatsinks and a 125W processor (unlocked x2 should be around 125W). Never, ever use an MSI board with a weak power phase for overclocking high-TDP processors. This includes up to 4+1 heatsinked on an overclocked 125W processor. Don't make me bring out the horror stories.
