4.2 Stable 1090T & Venomous X-RT

All I can say is this cooler is a beast. I have 2 scythe 2200 RPM 110CFM fans in pushpull.

With the same chip I could only previously achieve a 4GHz overclock, I am now up to 4.2 Stable.

And yes, I do not run Prime 95 for anything crazy like 15 or 24 hours. To each to his own, this is how I test.

Even with these voltages the chip never went over 54C

I agree with not running Prime for 24 hrs, but just 2 hrs? That's pretty short by any standard.

Nice OC. What cpu-nb speed are you on ?
I am doing cpu-4.1GHz with cpu-nb 2760MHz. My memory modules are holding me back or I could have reached even higher memory bandwidth than I have now.

I bever run mprime for longer than four hours. Waaay too much artificial stress for my tastes...

Hardly artificial, depending upon the computations you generally run on your system. I know in my work with CAD and simulations, I end up running what is effectively linpack, and sometimes I even run small Fourier transforms (ffts).

Artificial in the sense of what? I see very similar stress characteristics when running IBT/LinX/LinPack/Prime(with small fft/ I forget all of the other options... Prime typically actually works my CPU less (measured by energy draw + heat out).

Sorry sir, but if my system does not stand up to at least 24 hours of IBT/linX and HCI memtest, I almost always will BSOD or produce NANs or strange results when running simulations.

Normally, 4 or so hours of IBT is recommended, or 24 hours Prime

I ended up closing down at 3 hours.

I'm now folding on it smp 100%. Still going strong after 2 hours of folding as well.

The hardest I will ever stress my system is heavy video editing, while have multiple internet tabs open, an intensive game, music, and folding.

I think stability is relevant to whatever you use your system for.

Linpack (IBT LinX) is heavy on the core stress but does not effectively stress the ram/NB. Prime 95 blend will start off with large FFT's (testing the ram and NB) and will move down to smaller FFT's which stress the cores harder. It is good to use both in testing.

My settings as of right now passed 25 passes of IBT, and ran prime blend for 3 hours and has been 2 hours folding full SMP. I'm fine.

Think, standart for PRIME is 1-3h. The same, LINX standart is about 30 minutes! Every man, who is running PRIME 10h and more is crazy, because this not guarantee greater stability than 3h PRIME. I tetsing only 20-30min LINX and 1h PRIME and I had never problem with frozing, restarting etc in practice.

prime95 alone does not mean anything. i had a 555 that passed several hours of prime with no errors or crashing, and failed within first 15 minutes of gaming. passing prime does not equal stability. but failing prime = not stable. there is a difference; it's 1 way information.
