What an Absolute Piece of Junk from XFX - Page 3

Hey OP, if you have had bad experiences in the past with a company, why continue to buy their products?

Lots of new people with QQ threads lately....

I have a 750W and I can tell you from that those PSU's are all proven winners. OEM is Seasonic. The fan clicking issue affects a small number of them, and you just happened to get one that had it. Ask XFX for a RMA with a proof of purchase, and calmly explain to them that you'd like a replacement that does what you asked. In the meantime, put some headphones on or something.

the supply works but the fan has a loud clicking noise. Upon reading reviews, sure enough there are many customer feedbacks that say the fan is very noisy ... and it is.

There are many other good quality power supplies out there for the same price so be wise and steer clear of this XFX unit unless you plan to use it in an industrial environment - cause it sure is noisy when used at home

regarding recommendations in forums ... again, Buyer beware
Pull on the cables coming out of the psu once you install it, i had the same problem and it was just the cables.

(Just remembered they dont even make Nvidia cards anymore).

Its called customer satisfaction. Something they will talk a big game about and pride themselves with but dont deliver that makes them liars.

But thats what makes someone loyal to the brand. By keeping their exceptional experience in memory.
You do understand OP asked for an "upgrade" to a better card and wasn't XFX saying they didn't have the GTX260 anymore right?.

He asked for an upgrade as seen here:
Quote:
I spoke with a XFX rep and said I didn't want a third XFX 260 card and could they send me a HD4890 instead. he said ok, and that it was a done deal. An hour later I get an email saying the rep didn't have authority to make that decision and that XFX would not be sending me a HD4890
Now I dunno about you, but all the RMA’s I’ve dealt with are you get what you paid for.
If they don’t have the card in stock or available, they give you an equivalent card.

OP flat out came out and asked them for an upgraded card, not a replacement for the faulty GTX 260.

No manufacture that I’ve dealt give you upgrades if they have the replacement parts available.

Yes people can complain that they got lousy service in their opinion, but there's a difference between lousy service and expected service.

Terms of RMA/Warranty with electronics, specifically video cards are usually you get a replacement (normally refurbished), or if product is unavailable for a reasonable time, you get an equivalent replacement.

I'd argue btw the equivalent replacement to the GTX 260 would be the HD 4870, not the HD 4890.

And I wonder why OP edit’ed out his post from this thread
Hmmm…

Anyway, to the OP's original topic, just RMA it with XFX and sell the PSU
buy a diff brand then, stop going back to XFX if you have such a bad experience with them.
