Is it for gaming or HD video?

If not, EVGA sells USB-to-DVI adapters for less like the UV16+.

You might need to manually set the correct resolution and refresh rate. TVs are picky about input signals.

USB-to-DVI Adapter = $50
DVI-to-HDMI cable = $5

An active VGA-to-HDMI adapter will cost at $150-300. The device will need to convert the analogue signal to dgital... not cheap.

Cables will not convert anything, they are just connection adapters (this pin to that pin).

VGA is not the same as HDMI and the signal, unless I'm mistaken, needs active conversion through dedicated hardware. This is the same mess I went through learning that a VGA or HDMI signal needs active conversion to an SVideo signal (except in some special older hardware).

Adapter cables do nothing to convert the differences in format and are misleading.

Then is there an adapter that has active conversion?
