I think this is a mistake, will make no difference to quality however -

think coca cola v pepsi. there is the same rivalry in graphics ati v nvidia.

Once you have been fortunate enough to create a strong brand like ati you dont simply remove it - very very very bad marketing strategy.

The 6xxx boxes say and now been like that since they came out. Read something about it about 2 months before they came out

No offense, but where have you been??? AMD already made the switch over a month ago with the release of their first 6xxx series cards. This has been confirmed for probably 6 months or longer too.

I agree. If Viacom changed the "MTV" brand back in '85 when they bought it, that might've been a bad idea for example. AMD should've kept the ATI brand since most users are familiar with it as a GPU brand.
