Starting to regret Steam Purchasing

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

Just bought Crysis for like, £10 quid, and I'm loving it. Majorly loving it, its the first proper game I've played

However, I then just realised that I can't find the benchmark facility...

I'm guessing because its not the CD version, and all the install files are on the 'cloud/server' there is no benchmark etc?

If so, that sucks and I won't buy any games worth more than more than £5 on steam

IM pretty sure you can just DL the benchmark tool for Crysis

Edit: Here is the link: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Crysis-B...load-1791.html

Here is a website that you can download the benchmark utility if you want it.

http://downloads.guru3d.com/Crysis-B...load-1791.html

Edit: Now whether it will work or not with the steam install I don't know

I don't think so, I'm in the same boat man...I love Digital Downloads, but Im having a rough time inserting mods and patchs or benchmark tools like crysis.

Crysis benchmark is a standalone program that wasn't offered on the CD, it must be downloaded and is a free download. Never fear, Steam is a great place to get awesome games for great prices!

You don't even need a copy of crysis to use the benchmark. I've used the benchmark with just a demo.

Did you try the link I provided? I actually ran the benchmark before I ever bought the game.

Thanks for the replies, although the benchmarking tool asks me to point it to the Crysis main folder.

Of course, I don't have one as its a digital download, so I will try and download a demo of it somewhere and let you know how that goes.

To the other posters, perhaps there is a host with the benchmark tool that includes the demo for non-purchase reasons? That would be clever

Check your steam folder. Should be able to point it to there, that is how I do any mod I want to put on a game.

steam isn't cloud, only your data(ur games that you have) are in the cloud. Your files are in the steam/steamapps folder
