Memory Advise

Thread Starter
I have a quick question about my memory.
I have Crucial XMS3 9-9-9-24. 2x2GB version.

I was wondering if I would see any significant improvements in let's say speed and OC performance from switching to a better set of stick with a CAS of 7 and tighter timings? Would I benefit from doing this upgrade? Or would it not be noticable.

Your overall OC performance will increase if you switch to a cas7 memory set. The benchmarks will show significant latency improvement and you will be able to oc the memory with less worries. As for desktop performance, you wont see much difference except things feeling a bit snappier. You will see a fine progress in case of video edit/rip jobs if you use better modules and OC your cpu a good amount.
So yeah, go for it. I would if I had the chance.

1333 CL9 > 1600 CL9 would be better than 1333 CL9 > 1333 CL7.
If 1333 is where you're coming from of course.

-> More like arrows denoting the upgrading.
Remember, RAM can still be overclocked - there's a chance you may reach the speeds/timings you want with your current chips

Ok, I will see how far I can push these rams and then upgrade if they are below my expectations
