Modding a mouse

Thread Starter
Is there anyway to mod a mouse so that you can remove the sensor it has, and put in another one? I am using this mouse currently. Its not a really known brand, but the shape and size of the mouse is fantastic for my hands. Only problem is, the mouse only has 2 dpi settings, and the sensor isn't to my liking (lift off distance is 6.00MM). I've tried out the Zowie EC1, and I love the sensor, but the mouse itself is uncomfortable.

Has anyone heard of someone replacing a mouse sensor with another one? If so, I'd be happy if you can share it here...

I'm sure it can be done. Get them and try it. thumb.gif

You will probably have to swap ALL the internals though.

It might be easier to find a good mouse of similar size and remove the casing from it and mod the case of the mouse you like to accommodate the internals of the good mouse. Changing just the sensor might prove to be more difficult than it's worth.
