Because the unreal 3 engine is crap! Look at medal of honour.

Yea but the Unreal Engine 3 has been out LONGER as far as I know, and it is way more optimized than CryEngine...

And the Unreal Engine 3 looks pretty good as well.

What I also mean is, look at the lack of tweaking in MOH. No FOV, No AA, the textures are low resolution, water puddles don't move, and so on.

Graphically cryengine is superior, because it's a newer engine. It also has AA and FOV tweaking

The crysis guy has an ego the his &$% can't cash. Crysis 2 looks like junk not even close to what I expected.

LMAO at every saying Crysis is unoptimised

Instead why don't you geniuses make a list at what/how many effects Cryengine 2 is calculating at any given frame compared to other engines, you'll find it's handling 2-3x more shader load.

I think that the engine is amazingly optimised considering it has at least 1 shader per rendered pixel...

To be fair, Unreal Tournament III has huge amounts of tweaking, including FOV. I think MOH was just a poorly made PC game.

Also, thanks to Nvidia AA can be forced in UT3 games, but it is really sad that it takes driver forced AA to get any AA at all. That should have been fixed years ago...

This. I believe it was one of the first games to have Ambient Occlusion, Subsurface Scattering, water caustics, per pixel motion blur, and many other graphics features that are just now starting to show up in other games. It wasn't unoptimized, it was just ahead of it's time!

Now CryEngine3 is adding features like Global Illumination (faked, but still awesome) and Deferred Lighting! It's quite amazing, and the fact that it's even possible to run these types of effects in real time shows how optimized it is!

I will be getting Crysis 2, if not for the campaign then for the mods. The editor made some amazing Crysis mods available and this game's editor will be even better. Coupled with some "real mods" by the community you have awesome graphics and some of the best levels/mods possible.
And despite what all the haters say, I believe this will have better graphics than Crysis and Warhead. It's in the city, so they don't have to render as much at once (which is probably the reason why they can even release it for consoles) and us PC users, who're already able to run Crysis, will get better graphics.

If I'm wrong then PC gaming really has failed. Or at least when BF3 turns out to be a port too...

Wait Crysis has Ambient Oclussion? <Looks at nvidia control panel and see's the option disabled>.

Love when they start a p1$$ing match. Either way it's about time someone brought more competition. Don't care that much for crytek because to a degree the game took a lot more power to look as good as Unreal Tournament 3.

It certainly isn't multithreaded well.
(hence the performance of quads relative to duals in crysis)
