Corsair Dominator Temps

Thread Starter
I have TR3X6G1600C8D to be exact...
and I couldn't for the life of me find anywhere posted the max safe temp..
or even temp ranges...

so what I am looking for is either take a temp reading of your dominator ram..
or tell me an answer...

i'v overclocked mine some, and I used a IR gun on mine, and the hottest temp I could find
on the ram (heatsink of course) was 45c.
reason I am asking is for OC reason obviously..

You don't need to really worry about the temperature of the memory, a fan never hurts but even with extra voltage they don't run too hot.
That kit isn't usually a particularly good overclocker, depending how far you want to take them.

thanks for the reply.. and for the most part I would agree..
1 I still would appreciate some temps
2 you said its not a good overclocker.. how far would you take them?
I bought them cuz they are the x58+i7 ram of choice.
not that they are the best in the world or anything.

My Dominator... same as yours.. runs 42-45c if I run em heavy. Otherwise they are 38-40c... I have OC'd mine and never noticed it get any warmer. But then again, I have very good air flow. I actually have a temp sensor on the side of one of the sticks. So thats where my readings come from. Hope this helps.

They gave me issues up around 1800mhz or so I think, haven't used them outside spec since replacing them, until recently they were running in my folding rig. At spec they're completely dependable.
I do a lot of benching, the dominators were fine for all my normal 4.2 - 4.4Ghz overclocks but when I started pushing the rig harder they didn't like to be pushed too far.

Maximum safe temps for ram? There isn't any.Ram doesn't push the heat threshold at all.

yeah.. i'v heard that b4.. But I also hear having a x58 chipset helps it push further..
But I probably won't overclock it more than you did.

thanks for the (experienced) tip... helps
_______________

I rubber-band-ed a fan to my ram... temps dropped 15c..
but from what I gather.. temps don't really matter a whole lot
(as far as stability.. life-wise it will help)
