WARNING: Dead Space 2 DRM Install limit - Page 6

OP, if you were compliant about Steam use DRM on DS2. Impulse use SecuROM & offering re-downloading DS2 games as many as you want.

It's interesting you can play on 5 authorized PCs at once though.

Buy it = Lose money, deal with DRM

Pirate it = Keep money, don't deal with DRM

These companies have been dealing with pirates for...forever and the best they can come up with is stricter DRM? So punish the people who actually give you money, while pirates save money and enjoy not having to worry about DRM.

Look we deal with this every time there is a new game, but I agree and I will never buy a game with activation limits unless its for 3/4 the cost so at least I will only lose around $10 if they don't renew my activations.

Yeah, keep pirating it. Stick it to the man. See what that shows them.

"Gentlemen, I have learned that the overwhelming majority of people have been pirating our game! You know what that means!"
"That we have too much DRM in it?"
"NO! We didn't get a single E-mail to that respect. It means that PC gamers don't like paying for things! Secretary! Tell the publishers that Dead Space 3 will be console-only!"

Pirating console games is rather simple as well, if not simpler than PC.

No argument here! Still, it seems to happen more often on PC. Even if 360 piracy is easy, doesn't mean it's as common (It's like checking facebook privacy settings)

I half agree. People are going to pirate either way, you can't really stop it.

so by them putting DRM then they are just hurting loyal customers.

I admit, there are plenty of games that I have pirated and you know what, most of them I am glad I did pirate them, because i play for a few minutes and then decide i am glad i didn't spend money on a crappy game.
I pirated dead space 1, but guess what, I am going to buy both dead space 1 and 2 because i love the game so much and want to support the development of quality games.

Given that my post is directed at the members of this forum, and not at EA, I am traumatized to hear that the mouse-hands of our many OCN forumgoers have an uncontrollable mind of their own.

There's always a choice.

If you back a game up with steam, can you just reformat and restore or do you have to uninstall before format?
