WARNING: Dead Space 2 DRM Install limit - Page 10

You can't remotely de-activate it like you can with MS office installs?

I reached my 3 install limit and they asked me if i wanted to de-activate the earliest installation.

Let's say that 9% of all legitimate buyers of DeadSpace 2 install it on multiple computers. You still need the DVD right? I guess you can copy the DVD.

So they try to stop 9% of legitimate users from sharing it with other people who haven't bought it.

Then there's the small % of people who need to install it on more than 5 computers who dislike the DRM and get it hacked and don't pay anything.

No matter what, people are going to hack it. Even if they released it with NO drm and no serial, people would hack it and distribute it illegally. Be honest now.

Don't try to say that just because there is DRM on something that it'll encourage people to hack it. People will hack games regardless if they're popular.

Ha, which says to me that they should just give up and at best ensure legitimate users don't get hassled!

Also, they should remove the install limit from steam. Whats the point in that? You can't use any steam account simultaneously, so having more drm other than steam defeats the object.

Oh, so EA's back to their old tricks then? Well that seals the deal with Dead Space 2.

It's going on my "Do not buy even if held at gunpoint" list. It may be the best game ever produced but I'm not spending one cent on a game that takes away my right to install it on as many computers as I damn well please.

I can't say I'm taking it that far, but it certainly isn't worth $60 now, not to imply it was before. I'll consider it when it is $20 or less or in the clearance bin.
