Input & Advice on New System I'm Ordering Soon... - Page 2

Definitely go with Sandy Bridge, and grab an SSD. Given your uses (NLE), an SSD would be even more beneficial.
Let me know if you do decide to grab an SSD, and i'll help you decide which model is best.

Still planing on transferring the Asus Triton-81 into the new build.

I'm also looking at watercooling soon. I'll post a build list for that system later.

I'd love to go SSD, but first I need at least a 2TB RAID-0 setup to store and transfer the huge AVCHD 1920x1080i video files. I'll probably look into an SSD for the OS at a later time. What would you say is the size recommendation for Windows 7 x64 Ultimate? Would you install your programs to the SSD or another drive? I'll be installing MS Office, the entire Adobe Master Collection CS5 suite (which requires some 15+ GB), and some games beyond that. While I'd love to have all of these run off of SSD, I'm just not sure it's practical or economical yet. What do you think?

You said you could sac the fan controller and get the 570 instead? That's a no-brainer right there, do that.

Also, excellent pick on the mouse and keyboard. Very same two that I have wink.gif.

I have a 120Gb Sandforce Drive. With 6 games install, my OS, and ALL my other programs, I still have 40Gb left. I wouldnt get less than a 40-60Gb, because they are usually slower than the slightly larger ones.

SSDs are amazing, once you use one you dont wanna go without. Kinda like a DVR/Tivo.

I think you can just install all of that stuff on the HDD. At the very minimum, consider a 60GB SSD just for the OS and some absolute essentials.

Once you go SSD you never go back.

For $90 the CM Scout seems like a better case IMO
and isn't the 460 better then the 470?
You could also get a better CPU cooler tongue.gif

Alright, you have all convinced me that the GTX 470 is the spawn of Hitler and so I have added the EVGA GeForce GTX 570 Superclocked 1280 MB to my shopping cart.

Case 3 100$
Case 4 100$
MSI GTX 560 250$

Is that your dream system or mine:). I'm not looking to deviate 100%, just make some small changes here or there since I designed it specifically for my needs. It does look like a sound build though, just not what I'm looking for.
