Laws of pumps:

Pumps in series will double pressure. This is useful for a highly constricted systems that require a large pressure for a decent flow rate

Pumps in parallel will double flowrate. This is useful when you have a large temperature difference around your loop. It is unlikely that a home computer system will have such an issue however, and more likely that you will exceed the cooling capacity of your radiator.

Exactly. This is why getting a second pump is only a good idea if your flow rate is under 1 GPM or if you can not afford the down time incurred by a broken pump.

Same reason I have two. Not only am I future protected if I want to throw more wattage, and restriction to my loop, but I have protection for a failed pump.

Double flow rate... NO, Double Pressure... NO. There will be a very substantial increase in both of those values, but in no way they will be doubled if they are ran in-line. The parallel loop, values would double, but isn't that obvious?

However, you guys are making me paranoid about random hardware failure frown.gif. So I may in-stall a backup pump, mostly because I'm going add some QDC's.
