That is correct. I have a 64-bit version of Windows 7 installed on my PC, and when I swapped the Core 2 Duo E8600 out for a Pentium 4 641 (not permanently, of course), it was able to run the 64-bit software fine.

Welcome~
Nice rig Isn't a 3870 too good for a server, though? Or is that one of your leftover parts?

It's a leftover after I upgraded to the GTX460. It's the only other PCI-E I have around the house, and it folds better than the P4 CPU.

Oy, fellow P4 enthusiasts, check this out: http://www.overclock.net/main-compon...39-478-ee.html
The guy's selling a 3.4GHz Gallatin for only a hunnerd Typically, those go for $200, so it's quite a nice deal for those who need the absolute best.
My cousin has my old rig, so I'll pass, but it would be quite a lot of fun to pop that sucker into a P4C800 Deluxe and OC the hell out of it

Very nice, and probably the lowest it's ever been until now. If only I had an 875 chipset motherboard and an additional 2 GB of RAM (to make 4 GB), I would eventually consider buying it (but it's still too expensive for me).

Perhaps you should consider putting a Northwood in there instead of the Prescott you currently have. The Prescott uses more power.

Oh, and if you want a GPU, the GTX460 and Radeon HD6850 will not only be bottlenecked by the CPU as well as are PCIe based and unless you have one of those rare motherboards that have socket 478 and have a PCIe slot for graphics cards, you should better take a look here in this thread where the seller is selling both a X800GT AGP and an HD4650 AGP, each for $30 shipped - for your system the HD4650 would be a very nice deal.
