Q6600 temp issue...

Thread Starter
I have Q6600 oc'ed to 3ghz by using 9 X 335mhz. However... when running p95, I have temp that are at 61 65 78 79... How can there be so much temp difference between 1,2 VS 3, 4th core... Im sure i set my heatsink correctly as I reset it multiple times.

P.S Is my temp normal for using 1.144v for cpu...? It seems tad high for such low volts... Unless other factors are influencing the cpu temperature?

Stock cooling? I would reseat either way. Almost a 20c difference between core 1 and core 4 shows there is definitely a problem.

your temps are very high on those two high cores for such little voltage.
as far as core temp differences go, your IHS might not be totally flat.

^Do this. Also, 1.44 is alot for 3.0, you should be able to do that on stock VCore unless this is not a G0.

it's possible on B3 and G0, my B3 runs 3Ghz fine with 1.19v

But doubt it needs any more than 1.32v for 3Ghz

Something's definitely wrong. Either you applied too much thermal paste, poor HSF mounting, or your fan orientation is wrong.

For reference, my old Q6600 @ 3.2GHz 1.4v w/ a Xigmatek Dark Knight would max at around 70-72C.

Btw, in my experience it's normal for Core 3 & 4 to be 5-7C lower than Core 1 & 2.

at 22% load the temp is 51 55 58 61. WHY is it that when its MAX load the temp begin to separate so much?

I said my volt is 1.14 not 1.44 lol... Is it normal for q6600 to oc to 3ghz at 1.14v? Im very surprised as my i7 950 needs 1.3v for 4ghz...
