WD 2tb Green just arrived from eBay purchase - high failure rates?

I probabyl should have looked into these before buying, but the drive I ordered last week has just arrived, it is a WD 2tb Green, WD20EARS, date is 22 Sept 2010.

What is the failure rate like on these? Going by the NewEgg comments it's really bad, should I be worried of it failing?

Thanks.

I have had two of them since december, and i haven't had issues yet. So I don't know beyond that.

It's impossible to know the exact failure rates. However, BeHardware does periodically publish component (including HDD) return rates from a large French etailer. According to them, the WD20EARS return rate is similar to Barracuda LP and EcoGreen F3 2TB drives, although overall the 2TB drives tend to have a higher return rate than 1TB drives.

Wow thanks for the quick replies, and the link.

Hopefully (fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc) I won't experience trouble with it.. It cost a lot to ship here and the RMA won't work since I'm out of region..
