No point in waiting as hardware moves much too fast. When Ivybridge comes, people are gonna say "wait for Haswell".

I bought my vengeance ram (2x4gb) to replace my HyperX (2x2gb). Complete and total waste of money - swapped them back almost immediatly. 4-6gb is perfect for gaming (and most other tasks tbh), and the type or ram you choose can help with overclocking quite a bit. Pick the best speeds you can, something like 1600 cl6 or 2000 cl9 should be fine.

4x4gb of mid-speed ram putting pressure on your memory controller and chipset is not a good idea in any way shape or form.

As for the rest of the rig. You have quite a good budget. If i were in your position, i'd probably get i7 2600k (or cheap 970 if you can get one) and max out on GPU capability by getting 570sli or 6970xfire. SSD would also be a good choice.

That PSU is one of Rosewell's best offerings and is actually pretty darn good for the price...I would trust it, but if your looking for something more acceptable, look at Seasonic or Antec. 16Gb is overkill, and if your overclocking, get two DIMMS of whatever you like. AMD loves timings over frequency. So a CAS 7 1600Mhz kit will run faster then a CAS 9 2000Mhz kit. Get an SSD for boot, and something like a Western Digital Green/Samsung F3 for storage. Ultimate doesn't give anything over Professional except BitLocker and support for multiple languages.

Hmm...a 1090T would save a few bucks, and your only robbed 100Mhz, which can easily be fixed by raising the multi a few notches. Other then that, it looks solid smile.gif Unless you NEED the power of Nehalem/SB, it will last a very long time.
