Hi guys,
i have been lurking around these forums for a while now and decided to register to get some feedback. Im currently using a e8400 build @ 4ghz-zalman9900led, 3gb ddr2@888mhz, some 500gb hdd 5300rpm and recently a 480gtx twin frozr ii GPU. So now i decided i wanted something new so i ordered a new build, here are the specs:

Mobo: MSI P67A-GD65 | P67A-GD65
CPU: Intel Core I7 2600K | BX80623I72600K
Ram: Corsair CMT8GX3M4A1866C9 | CMT8GX3M4A1866C9
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 | NH-D14 - will go with some MX-2
HDD: Seagate Barracuda XT ST32000641AS . 2TB | ST32000641AS
Case: Cooler Master Sniper Black Edition | SGC-6000-KXN1-GP
PSU: XFX 850w black edition
GPU: 480gtx Twin Frozr ii

Now in percents, how much performance gain am i looking at comming from a e8400? And how well will i be able to OC? Thanks in advance

you can OC that cpu to around 5Ghz
for perfomance gains u wont see big difference in games that use only 2 cores since core2duo E8400 is still the best dual core on the market
but for new games that utilize 4 cores or more (Civ 5 , GTA 4 , SC 2 , Black Ops ,Just Cause 2 etc etc ) u will see double or even tripple perfomance gains

Nice looking build. I'm not able to comment on the board itself, as I'm an AMD user, but the rest of the parts look great.
The 2600k is a very nice chip, very fast, and coming from an e8400, you'll be pretty much blown away by the performance. Good cooler, should take it up to some pretty decent speeds. There will be a pile of Intel types along in a minute to drool all over it.

Sounds stunning, i can't wait now for the equipment to get here As for gaming, i only use one 27inch 1080p monitor, and the 480gtx is already giving me 50fpish on bad company 2, so for gaming im settled for now right? I can always sli another one later on, will the 850watt hold its stone with 2 480's and a 5ghz cpu OC?

according to this chart gtx 480 is very power hungry and produces alot of heat , sli 480 would not only eat throught any 1000w psu but also produce crazy amount of heat which will require you to get a watercooling setup
1 480 is good but if u want SLI , 2 GTX 570 is the way to go on a 850w PSU.

Thanks for the heads up, so i would need a new psu if i wanted to sli. Do not worry about the 'heat' problems, i got a twin frozr ii version, it idles at 36°C and maxxes out at 78°C with a very high OC
